Earlier this summer, Exact Sciences employees in Madison, Wis., gave back to the community by lending a hand at the Goodman Community Center. Located on Madison’s east side, the community center has served individuals and families of all ages and backgrounds for nearly 70 years.

54 Exact team members volunteered their time in an effort to get the center ready for a variety of summer youth programs. Over three days, the team cleaned classrooms, worked in the perennial gardens, and organized supplies in the food pantry, making sure the center was prepared for the busy summer ahead.

The Goodman Community Center offers no or low-cost programs to kids ages 3-18 through dynamic and enriching opportunities after school and throughout the summer. What can families expect a summer at Goodman to look like?  “Learning with a healthy dose of fun.”

“The Goodman Community Center is an important part of the Madison-Dane County community, giving children a place to go to learn and have fun while providing parents with the reassurance that their child is in good hands” said Kyle Stacey, vice president, controller at Exact Sciences. “As a board member at Goodman, over the past five years I have seen the center grow with the support of our company and local businesses.”

The center also supports the community with a food pantry, older adult programs, a fitness center and event spaces. The Goodman Community Center is committed to being a safe and welcoming place, strengthening the Madison-Dane County community with resources and programs for all.

Exact Sciences strives to make a positive impact in our communities for future generations to come.
