In 2023, Exact Sciences tried something new with the company’s annual workplace giving campaign: Choice. By encouraging employees to give back in whichever way was most meaningful to them, the company hoped to inspire engagement and magnify community impact, and it worked

The success of the 2023 campaign showed the organizers at Exact Sciences that they were onto something. For 2024, they would again offer employees a variety of participation options, but raised their goal to 7,000 “acts of impact.”

Team members could choose to donate money or food, make holiday cards for homebound seniors, prepare meals for local food pantries, or volunteer their time with organizations of their choice.

The team showed up. They exceeded the target, completing more than 8,500 acts of impact over the 19-day campaign. Here are some highlights:

In Marshfield, WI, employees organized 12 unique events to raise over $11,000 for Marshfield Area United Way, including a carnival lunch and a silent auction.
