The Oncodetect™ test is a personalized test that can help guide therapy decisions and monitor cancer recurrence for patients with solid tumors.
Step 1
Select test
Select the Oncodetect test from the list of offered tests.
The Oncodetect test can be ordered at the same time as any other test available in the Provider Hub.
Step 2
Tell us about your patient
Non-clinical study patient
As you enter your patient’s information, we’ll start checking to see if they’ve taken a test with us before. If they have, you can use their information on file.
Clinical study patient
You can indicate here if your patient is a part of a clinical study supported by Exact Sciences, and enter their details.
Step 3
Choose billing method
Bill to insurance
Select a private insurance carrier, Medicare, or Medicaid and provide copies of the patient’s insurance card.
Bill to health care office
Select an office to bill, whether it’s yours or another account.
Self-pay
Select this if the patient does not have insurance or does not want to use their insurance.
Clinical study supported by Exact Sciences
You must select this option for clinical study patients.
Step 4
Tell us about the ordering provider
Select the ordering provider by first choosing their health care office. Once you’ve placed an order, we’ll show your recently used providers for quicker selection.
Step 5
Choose additional report recipients
Results are automatically sent to the ordering provider, submitting pathologist, and delegates (if applicable).
Optionally choose up to five additional people who’ll receive a report.
Step 6
Enter test-specific clinical information
For the Oncodectect test, we request the following:
- Primary cancer diagnosis and stage
- Surgery history
- Current treatments or therapies
- ICD-10 codes
Step 7
Choose tumor specimen retrieval method
Exact Sciences to request specimen from pathology
With this option, Exact Sciences will request specimen retrieval from the pathology department where the specimen is located.
Ordering provider to request specimen from pathology
With this option, the ordering provider will put in a request for the specimen from a pathology department.
Step 8
Choose blood draw interval and retrieval method
Choose between one-time or recurring blood draws, then select the retrieval method:
Managed by provider’s office
The ordering provider will arrange the patient’s blood draw. For future recurring tests, we’ll send you an email reminder two weeks before the next blood draw is due.
Managed by Exact Sciences
We will contact the patient to manage the location, date, and time of the blood draw before sending them a test kit. We’ll also send the patient reminders, updates, and next steps. There are also mobile phlebotomy options available.
Step 9
Review and submit
Take one last look and make any necessary edits before submitting your order. You’ll see an order confirmation email after you’re done submitting.
Step 10
Prepare for next steps
After you’ve submitted your order, you’ll see options to print full order details or an optional fax cover sheet to prepare for specimen retrieval.
We’ll keep you updated on your order’s progress through email. You can also check your in-progress orders in the “Orders” tab in your account.
